Position Summary:

Black Label Services (BLS) provides industry-leading solutions in automation, measurement, and electrical control for the oil and gas industry. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Programming Manager to lead our programming and controls team, drive project execution, and support the delivery of cutting-edge process solutions for our clients.

Requirements

 Role and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of programmers and control system technicians, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
• Oversee the design, development, implementation, and support of control system solutions including PLC programming, HMI development, and VFD configuration.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to company quality and safety standards.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical challenges related to control systems and instrumentation.
• Interface with customers, project managers, engineering, and field teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in programming standards, tools, and processes to enhance system reliability and team efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and company-specific electrical and safety standards.
• Manage workload and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
• Support budgeting, planning, and procurement activities related to controls and automation.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
• Expert-level experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC programming and HMI development.
• In-depth understanding of Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and industrial communication protocols. 
• Proven experience with electrical design, motor control circuits, and VFD configuration.
• Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and control drawings; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
