Job Description:

Job Duties:  

  • Coordinate and facilitate programs and activities to include special events, clubs, community partner programs and NDCS-facilitated programs.
  • Recruit, onboard, and oversee community partners at the facility level, ensuring compliance with NDCS policies and tracking participation for ACA Outcome Measures.
  • Maintain accurate records by updating rosters, tracking inmate and community partner participation hours, and compiling monthly reports for administration.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as submitting paperwork to national organizations, collecting and submitting club dues, and assisting with club budgets.
  • Manage program supplies and inventory, including submitting and verifying orders, maintaining inventory, and ensuring items comply with institutional guidelines.
  • Respond to correspondence from the incarcerated population and ensure equitable access and opportunities across all programs and clubs.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support and enhance club and community partner initiatives.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field OR two years of experience working with persons referred through the legal system. Must be at least 18 years of age. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience coordinating and working with volunteer programs to include scheduling, managing waiting lists and having professional interactions with community partners. Experience in interpreting and enforcing laws, rules, regulations, and processes, reviewing, and evaluating administrative records and reports. Experience in public speaking. Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe software. Must have excellent organization and time management skills. Knowledge of evidence-based practices is preferred. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish desired and assessed.

Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Transcripts required prior to appointment. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Corrections Training Program.
