Project Accountant

Duties/Responsibilities:

Act as first line of communication with theOwners, Project Managers and other staff and provide timely responses to questions and inquiries
Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
Review monthly Work-in-Progress reports for completeness, accuracy, and variations
Review monthly Accounts Receivables for payment status and follow-up as necessary
Work closely with Project Managers and perform detailed monthly job cost reviews
Job setup (contract review, budget, schedule of values, billing templates, etc.) in Vista by Viewpoint/Procore
Review bonding requirements per contract and order Payment/Performance bonds if required
Send insurance requirements to insurance agency to obtain Certificate of Insurance
Request job cost transfers
Process subcontract and change order requests
Produce and send monthly Owner billing packets for each job (including release of liens, vendor lien waivers, Customer-specific billing formats, AIA, etc.) Process vendor credit applications and request new vendor setups
Monitor Pay Controls and requests changes to ensure that subcontractors and vendors are paid at the appropriate time according to their specific contract terms and conditions
Process job closeouts
Assist with special projects and other duties as requested by company management
Position Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities

Familiarity with integrated Job Costing and Construction Accounting
Ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively under stress, meet short deadlines, and take direction
Strong communication skills to handle both internal and external personnel
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with a high attention to detail Education and Experience:
A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or relevant years of experience
Proficiency at the intermediate level in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office
Strong knowledge of project contracts and change order documents and familiarity with AIA documents
Vista by Viewpoint Construction Software experience preferred, but not required
Procore Software experience preferred, but not required
