POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Accounting Specialist at LJA Accounting, you will be responsible for accounting and administrative support for day-to-day activities of Project Managers.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
Project setup and maintenance
Invoicing clients on a weekly/monthly basis – lump sum, time & material, % of completion basis
Preparing spreadsheet invoices to include detailed backup documentation
Providing project, billing, A/R and other misc. reports as needed
Assisting Project Managers and Collections group with resolving outstanding AR issues
Analyzing revenue and job cost
Monitoring sub-consultants including reviewing contract and insurance certificates ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, tracking payment status
Reviewing accounts payable and coding, entry as needed
Archiving documents pertaining to projects and client/sub-consultant contracts
Working directly with various project managers, administrative support and management
Completing special projects as requested by a supervisor or manager
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of experience in a billing position
Intermediate experience with Excel and Microsoft Office
IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:
Experience with billing for public/government clients is a plus
Experience with ERP project-based accounting systems Deltek, Clearview/InFocus, or BST Global is a plus
Experience with invoice submittal via client portals is a plus
Experience in the Engineering or Construction industry is a plus
