American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. (AFBIS, Inc.) is looking for an experienced Project Development Manager to work out of our Fargo, North Dakota Office. The Project Development Manager is a hands-on manager role that will lead the execution of key organizational projects that are aligned with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
In addition to managing multiple projects, the Project Development Manager will be responsible for developing an overall project management philosophy, strategy and culture within AFBIS. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Project Development Manager will be responsible for:
Creating and implementing an overall project management philosophy, strategy, and culture
Developing solid team dynamics; creating individual goals and initiatives, and holding employees accountable for their performance
Establishing written standards, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency
Overseeing project development and key business initiatives, coordinating tasks, liaising with stakeholders and ensuring clarity on roles and project objectives
Scoping projects, managing relationships, planning and controlling processes, reporting progress, overseeing quality assurance, managing testing, leading teams and communicating with senior leaders
Developing and implementing project plans and schedules, aligning them with overall strategic objectives and incorporating project management principles
Managing and prioritizing multiple projects, leading cross-functional teams to achieve goals
Conducting regular reviews and preparing comprehensive reports for senior management highlighting key decisions, adjustments, and successes achieved
What you will bring to this position:
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Five years of project management and people management experience
Experience in crop insurance and system development
Proven record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to high standards
Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including both traditional (e.g., Waterfall) and Agile (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
Scrum Master Certified, PMP, or similar industry certifications are a plus
Experience in building a project management culture from the ground up is a plus
Strong organizational and time management skills, adept at juggling multiple priorities and managing tasks efficiently within an Agile workflow
Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello)
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
