Data centers and mission critical facilities are under more pressure than ever to run reliably and efficiently, which means demand for power monitoring expertise has never been higher. At our company, every employee's work has a direct impact on the level of service we deliver to our customers. If you want a role where your technical skills contribute directly to the uptime of infrastructure people depend on every day, this is a good place to be.

Who We Are

Janitza North America is the US based arm of Janitza electronics GmbH, a leading German manufacturer of electrical power monitoring hardware and software. A family-owned business, we make hardware and software to measure and analyze power quality measures for our data centers, mission critical facilities, and industrial manufacturing customers. With our tools, companies can take action to reduce energy costs, improve uptime, and decrease their carbon footprint.

The Role

As Project Engineer, you'll support the design, deployment, commissioning, and ongoing technical support of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) across North America. You'll report to the Director of Solutions and Technical Support and work closely with customers, sales, engineering, quality, and project management to deliver monitoring solutions for mission critical environments.

You work closely with customers, sales teams, engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver effective monitoring solutions for mission-critical environments. You are comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical audiences, from field technicians and consulting engineers to facility managers and executive leadership.

Ideally, you've diagnosed and troubleshot EPMS applications tied to low voltage electrical systems (480V), power metering, industrial networking, PLC/HMI integration, and common communication protocols, and you're good at working across internal teams and customers to resolve technical challenges quickly.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to customer support requests, both remotely and onsite

  • Deliver customer training on newly commissioned systems

  • Build strong customer relationships and provide a high level of technical support

Technical work

  • Perform testing, validation, commissioning, and startup support for new product deployments

  • Advise customers and sales teams on the right Janitza hardware and software for their needs

  • Support engineering service requests and broader project execution activities

Internal collaboration and process

  • Manage customer service requests through the ticketing system, prioritizing and resolving issues efficiently

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to relay customer requirements, feedback, and technical challenges

  • Contribute to improving service, ticketing, quality assurance, and support processes

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for assigned OEM accounts and strategic projects

  • Use Salesforce, Jira, SAP, and other internal systems to manage projects, customer information, and service activities

Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including commissioning reports and as built system documentation

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 25% travel, including visits to customer sites, OEM partners, and company locations.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods, including at customer sites.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with customers in a technical support or project delivery environment.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), power quality monitoring (PQM), or energy management systems.

  • Hands-on field commissioning, startup, or troubleshooting experience.

  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, Modbus, BACnet, EtherNet/IP, or similar industrial communication protocols.

  • Experience working within mission-critical facilities, data centers, manufacturing plants, or commercial electrical environments.
