As Project Engineer III/Sr., you'll execute engineering on a variety of tactical maintenance projects in the onshore gas transmission sector (CFR 192). Projects such as existing compressor station work, interconnects, various pipeline efforts, hydrotests, geotechnical, replacements, facility modifications and others are some types of the work normally executed. Maintaining focus on safety and compliant designs and an emphasis on continuous improvement is paramount in this role. Support the project managers by implementing and applying engineering techniques within our project life cycle process (design to standards, materials acquisition, design reviews, permitting, management of change, construction support and project closure). The ability to collaborate and coordinate with others to provide technical solutions, identify, and resolve sophisticated problems and develop innovative approaches to address issues that have significant cost and schedule impact are keys to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:

• Develops and leads the engineering execution strategies to meet overall project objectives. Works with internal partners on management of quality control and project timeline.

• Execute design reviews and manage engineering design and drawing development of all project efforts. Coordinates with project team and communicates project drivers; develops approaches to accommodate concerns.

• Ensure that technical aspects of the projects meet expectations, quality standards, and execution strategy; identifies and implements technical improvements.

• Addresses the technical content of purchase orders to ensure they contain accurate technical and commercial terms.

• Work with project team to ensure requests for information (RFIs) are promptly resolved.

• Develops commissioning plans, closes projects and ensures accurate documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Aconex preferred.

• Provides technical expertise and recommendations during project standards reviews.

• Accountable for small projects or programs with minimal risks and resource requirements. Interface with consultant engineering firms and internal stakeholders when projects are outsourced.

• Travel requirements up to 30%.

Education/Years of Experience:

• Required: bachelor’s degree in engineering required (PE preferred). Prefer a minimum of six (6) years of progressive hands-on engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry. Must have four (4) years of experience in a similar tactical/capital project engineering role in the onshore gas transmission, CFR 192, for pre-FEED, FEED, detail engineering, EPC etc. PE certification preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application, Blue Beam or equivalent and other typical PC skills utilized in engineering roles.

• Advanced knowledge of the engineering workflow and Project Life Cycle processes as well as supply chain discipline and materials acquisition processes.

• Advanced knowledge of pipeline engineering design principles and applicable design guides, standards, and codes.

• Intermediate knowledge of other engineering subject areas design guides and standards.

• Demonstrated ability in interpreting engineering deliverable content as assigned.

• Proficiency with construction & constructability practices & principles and technology trends.

• Strong understanding of processes and procedures for project controls and estimating.

• An understanding of Aconex for document controls preferred.
