Project Estimator

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years' experience in the estimating and preconstruction of large-scale commercial projects (division 2-14) in our primary verticals (Healthcare, Education) in the Fort Wayne, IN market.

In this role, you are accountable for the management of individually assigned construction estimating projects in such a way as to ensure a complete scope of work is documented for combined value analysis. Works under general supervision and makes decisions based on established procedures. As a Project Estimator, you are responsible for organizing bid solicitations from subcontractors and suppliers, quantitative analysis of project specific elements, reviewing project schedule, costing, risk analysis and understanding project specifications including contract language. Within our team you work closely with other estimators, Project Management, Field Operations, Finance, Safety, and Business Development. Externally, you will work closely with architects, engineers, owners, public entities, trade subcontractors, material suppliers, bonding and insurance agents and others who may be associated with an assigned project.

College Degree preferred. Minimum 7 years of work experience in large-scale vertical commercial construction estimating. Conceptual estimating experience preferred. BA/BS/AS or other accredited degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience. Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and presentation skills. Demonstrated problem solving skills and critical thinking skills.

Proficiency in various estimating software, including those used for digital quantity take-off, pricing, and bid invitation. Proficiency in of Microsoft Suite, especially Word and Excel. Preferred experience in pricing labor for concrete, carpentry, casework, doors, demo, and specialties. Preferred experience with preconstruction estimating. Preferred experience with scheduling software.
