A reputable demolition contractor operating throughout the region is seeking a skilled and analytical Project Estimator to join their growing team. This position plays a critical role in the company's preconstruction process, responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of demolition and environmental abatement projects.
Core Responsibilities
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for demolition, selective demolition, and hazardous material abatement scopes
Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify full scope of work
Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive and complete pricing
Conduct site visits and pre-bid walkthroughs to assess existing conditions and identify potential project risks
Collaborate with project management and operations teams to develop realistic budgets and schedules
Maintain and update internal cost databases, unit pricing, and historical project data
Track bid activity, deadlines, and award outcomes to support business development efforts
Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors
Prepare and present detailed bid packages and proposals to clients and stakeholders
Support project handoffs by clearly communicating scope, assumptions, and cost breakdowns to the field team
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of 3–5 years of estimating experience in demolition, abatement, construction, or a closely related field
Strong understanding of demolition methods, site logistics, and construction sequencing
Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
Familiarity with hazardous material abatement scopes including asbestos, lead, and mold remediation
Experience with Sage 300, Bluebeam, or similar construction software platforms
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
