Burdg & Dunham Construction is seeking a motivatedProject Managerto lead retail construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, anticipates challenges before they arise, and drives projects forward with urgency, accountability, and pride in their work.
Responsibilities
Project Planning, Execution & Leadership
Take full ownership of assigned projects from pre-construction through completion
Proactively identify risks, constraints, and opportunities and take initiative to resolve them
Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and logistics
Drive projects forward with a sense of urgency while maintaining quality and safety
Pre-Construction Coordination
Review budgets, scopes, and assumptions developed through the estimating process
Participate in handoff meetings to ensure a clear understanding of the project scope and pricing
Support value engineering discussions as needed
Financial Management
Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting
Prepare and manage change orders, cost adjustments, and scope revisions
Review and approve invoices and pay applications
Client & Team Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
Provide clear, consistent project updates and financial reporting
Build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors through proactive communication
Quality, Safety & Accountability
Ensure compliance with all contract documents, building codes, and company standards
Promote and enforce job-site safety practices
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure workmanship meets Burdg & Dunham expectations
Documentation & Closeout
Maintain accurate project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, contracts, and change orders
Lead project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, and final turnover documentation
Travel Expectations
Travel as requiredfor job-site visits, project meetings, and client coordination
Overnight travel may be required depending on project location

Strong understanding of construction budgeting and cost control
Proven ability to take initiative and manage projects with minimal oversight
