The Department of Children and Families – Bureau of Information Technology
Services Enterprise Section is looking for a results -oriented and adaptable project manager with
a collaborative attitude and experience managing complex application development.
The candidate will be joining an existing team and have responsibility overseeing the work of
two development teams working on different Financial applications, data warehouses, and
reporting products. A collaborative attitude and attention to detail are crucial for this role. An
ability to develop relationships with many types of stakeholders across the organization and
balance priorities is also key.
Expert -level knowledge of legacy systems modernization including Mainframes, data migrations,
systems integration, cloud applications is valuable. A strong candidate will also have deep
understanding of the software systems, databases and tools including but not limited to SAP
Business Objects, Informatica data warehouse, .NET Framework, Web Services, Tableau, Oracle,
SQL Server, Microsoft suite and batch processing protocols.
The individual in this position will:
• Be responsible for technical and overall project management (e.g., planning,
implementation, communication, etc.) on application projects that have enterprise -wide
reach.
• Develop and maintain project charters, plans, deliverables, and other project artifacts.
• Work closely with the project sponsor(s) and IT management to understand and
prioritize project tasks, solve complex technical problems, understand
business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, and perform feasibility
studies and cost/benefit analysis. Flexibility and creativity will be crucial to this
collaborative role.
• Lead and develop an effective team, directing the work of multiple individuals to reach
project milestones. Foster an environment of continuous improvement and team
problem -solving, while documenting potential risks and developing mitigation
strategies.
• Understand and uphold DCF application and reporting development best practices and
SDLC, follow standard project management methodology for agile and hybrid projects,
especially in relation to Finance applications.
• Successfully balance multiple priorities across multiple stakeholder groups without
compromising stakeholder satisfaction.
• Maintain strong relationships with many stakeholders with varying levels of engagement
and authority.
• Have 15 or more years of experience leading large application development projects.
Professional certification (PMP or similar) is strongly preferred.
