Project Manager – Custom & Semi-Custom New Home Construction

Location: Port St. Lucie to West Palm Beach, FL (local candidates only)

Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000 + guaranteed first-year bonus + vehicle allowance

About the Opportunity

In production homebuilding, the house is bought out before a shovel goes in the ground. At this custom homebuilder, Project Managers work much closer to the numbers, carrying each home from estimating and purchasing through construction and completion.

The company has been building on Florida's east coast for eight years and is part of a multi-state development group with a financially strong foundation. Every home is custom or semi-custom, and every project is new construction, with build budgets of roughly $2M–$3M in Wellington and $2.5M–$4M in West Palm Beach.

The Role

You'll manage multiple homes at once. The role is primarily office-based, with periodic field visits to stay current on what's happening at each site. You'll own the numbers and the flow of every project, including scopes, bids, purchasing, cost, change orders, schedule updates, and client communication, while working hand in hand with the superintendents running the field.

What You'll Get to Accomplish

• Carry multiple custom and semi-custom homes from conception to completion, with projects typically running 12–14 months.
• Build each job's cost structure: read and interpret plans, develop scopes, prepare bid lists, and evaluate bids.
• Manage overall project cost by finding savings and issuing purchase orders and change orders throughout construction.
• Keep the schedule current. Superintendents create it, PMs update it, and the whole team works from it.
• Partner closely with superintendents to monitor progress and support the field, including coaching superintendents from production backgrounds on the details the company looks for.
• Keep clients informed and satisfied through regular, clear communication from start to finish.

• Real command of the numbers: estimating, scopes, bids, purchasing, and cost control.
• The organization to manage multiple homes at the same time.
• Comfort in a Microsoft environment. The team is in Teams every day and runs projects in BuilderTrend.
• A stable work history, with clear reasons behind each career move.
• Residence in the local market, between Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach.

Project Managers whose experience is primarily in production or developer-built product, or in remodeling, are not the right fit for this role.

You'll see the work before you decide. After an initial 20–30 minute call, candidates who move forward walk active jobsites with the hiring manager, from homes coming out of the ground to framing, floors and tile, and homes being finished.

Compensation & Benefits

• $100,000–$130,000 base salary, paid bi-weekly
• Guaranteed first-year bonus, subject to completing your first year
• Flat vehicle allowance of approximately $570 per month
