The Position:
HBG Design is seeking a skilled Project Manager to contribute project management talents and

architecture/design

knowledge to the firms nationally recognized hospitality and entertainment projects. This position will be based in HBGs San Diego, California, office.

The Successful Candidate:
If you are looking for an exciting new place to grow, HBG Design is seeking an experienced Project Manager with the ability to assume overall responsibility for planning, organizing, and administering the firms architecture and interior design projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will possess well-rounded attributes that make him/her a great Communicator, Negotiator, Financial Manager, Risk Manager, Scheduler, Mentor/Coach/Team Motivator, Technical Specialist, and Quality Controller; while demonstrating passion and enthusiasm for project management, business development, client management, team management, and practice leadership. This position requires specialized proficiency in accomplishing the fundamental goals of the firm at the project level: i.e. client satisfaction, profitability, staff development, etc.

Established in 2016, HBG Designs West Coast office is located in downtown San Diego, near the East Village and Gaslamp Quarter. The Project Manager position will be based in our San Diego office and will work closely with HBG Designs project management group and design teams across our locations, and with our national clients across the United States.
As a member of HBGs Project Management Group, the successful candidate will also collaborate to help inform the general direction of the firms project management processes. HBGs PM group is comprised of six project managers, who bring passion for the hospitality and entertainment industry and an average of 25 years of experience managing and designing architecture and interior design projects.
The Position Responsibilities:
\tPrepare overall project plans for the execution of each design project, as assigned.
\tServe as the official HBG point of contact for project Owners, Program Managers, General Contractors, and/or Construction Managers.
\tEnsure appropriate and proactive communication with clients.
\tAssist in business development pursuits as required by the business development manager and/or group leaders.
\tCoordinate as required with multiple teams, consultants, and other disciplines for project support.
\tEnsure that project team consultants perform in conformance with the contract requirements.
\tDevelop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
\tEnsure successful completion of each project, on schedule and within budget.
\tEnsure that project billings are promptly and accurately invoiced to the client in conformance with the contract requirements and ensure that payments are received.
\tAttend a minimum of one site visit per month, or in accordance with contract requirements.
\tConduct employee evaluations of personnel under his/her direct supervision, as required by human resources and/or group leaders.
The Required Qualifications:
\t10+ years of architectural experience, preferably within the hospitality and/or

gaming/entertainment

industry.
\tMust be a Licensed Architect.
\tDemonstrated knowledge and experience previously serving in a Project Architect role.
\tBachelors or masters degree in architecture.
\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
\tDemonstrated success in client and consultant management, and firm risk management, both financial and professional practice.
\tProven track record in overseeing the entire design project lifecycle, including planning, organization, administration, financial management, design schedule management, and project plan execution.
\tConsistent, demonstrated performance managing and motivating large project teams, including internal team members and consultant teams members.
\tAssurance in proactively scheduling and conducting client and team meetings.
\tExperience with business development and the commitment to assist in project pursuits as required by the business development pursuit manager and/or group leaders.
The Compensation:
$85,000 - $120,000 per year.
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, regional cost of living, experience, and qualifications.
