Project Manager – Capital Equipment Systems

Location: Hawthorne, NY
Salary: $100,000–$140,000 + Annual Bonus

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead custom-engineered capital equipment and industrial machinery projects from order release through installation and final customer acceptance.

This is a customer-facing project management role with an established manufacturer of automated equipment serving the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, food, and consumer products industries.

The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Service, and Sales teams. Candidates should have project management experience with an equipment manufacturer, systems integrator, automation company, or equipment fabrication operation.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple custom capital equipment projects from order entry through final customer acceptance
• Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables
• Coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Service, and Sales activities
• Lead project kickoff meetings, internal status reviews, and customer progress meetings
• Manage project scope, change orders, scheduling adjustments, and associated commercial impacts
• Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain schedules and customer satisfaction
• Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), equipment shipment, installation, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, reports, and customer communications
• Track project performance and resource requirements using project management software
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to project execution and manufacturing efficiency
• Travel to customer facilities for project meetings, installations, and acceptance testing as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
• 4+ years of Project Manager or Project Engineer experience within capital equipment manufacturing, industrial machinery, automation, systems integration, or equipment fabrication
• Customer-facing project management experience is required; experience managing only internal projects is not sufficient
• Experience managing engineered equipment projects through multiple stages of the project lifecycle
• Strong project scheduling, budgeting, scope management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate technical and manufacturing teams while maintaining direct customer communication
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Monday.com, or similar platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• PMP certification or formal project management training is highly desirable
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus

Location & Travel Requirements

Candidates must be able to commute to Hawthorne, NY five days per week. Candidates outside the area must be willing to relocate within commuting distance. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Approximately 10–15% travel to customer facilities is expected.
