About Facility Innovations Group
Facility Innovations Group (FacilityIG) is a construction company delivering electrical construction and facility improvement programs for commercial clients, including national retail and convenience programs. We are growing into industrial-commercial electrical work for data centers, manufacturers, warehouse and distribution operators, and selected general contractors.
FacilityIG is a mid-sized, entrepreneurial company. We value ownership, field-first judgment, and people who use modern tools — including AI — to plan better, communicate clearly, and keep projects moving.
Position Summary
The Project Manager — Electrical owns assigned electrical construction projects from turnover through closeout: scope, schedule, budget, quality, documentation, and client communication. This posting is built for candidates with deep electrical construction experience.
This is not a desk-only or IT project-management role. The ideal candidate has managed commercial or industrial electrical scopes in the field, can read plans and one-lines, coordinates licensed crews and subcontractors, and uses AI tools daily to improve planning, documentation, and follow-through.
Primary Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Own assigned electrical projects from contract turnover through punch list and closeout, delivering to schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards.
- Plan and track electrical scopes including power distribution, service and switchgear work, conduit and raceways, lighting and controls, tenant and facility improvements, and multi-site program rollouts.
- Coordinate crews, foremen, apprentices, subcontractors, materials, inspections, and utility work so production stays on plan.
- Identify risks early (labor, materials, access, design gaps, schedule conflicts) and drive corrective action with the field and leadership.
Technical and Field Coordination
- Review drawings, one-lines, specs, and RFIs for constructability; escalate design conflicts before they hit the field.
- Support permitting, inspections, and code compliance in coordination with field supervision and qualifying parties.
- Partner with the warehouse and procurement on material pulls, long-lead equipment, and jobsite logistics.
- Visit jobsites regularly; stay close enough to the work to catch quality, safety, and productivity issues early.
Documentation, Cost, and Client Communication
- Maintain project documentation in Procore (or company PM platform): daily reports, RFIs, submittals, photos, change orders, and closeout packages.
- Track job cost versus budget; manage change orders, billing inputs, and forecast updates with leadership.
- Communicate status clearly to clients and internal leadership; keep commitments visible and current.
AI and Operating Discipline
- REQUIRED: daily hands-on use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) to draft updates, summarize field notes, organize follow-ups, improve documentation quality, and speed routine PM work — and the ability to learn new AI tools as the company adopts them.
- Follow company AI policy (IT-POL-001 Using Claude AI); never put confidential client, employee, or safety-sensitive data into unapproved tools.
- Help standardize PM practices (schedules, look-aheads, turnover checklists, closeout) so electrical projects run repeatably across sites.
What This Role Is Not
- Not an IT / software / Agile-only Project Manager role.
- Not a pure estimating or sales role (though constructability input and client communication are part of the job).
