Your Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join the Energy Business Line.

Your Key Responsibilities
Be the client interface and primary point of communication for a project and/or group of projects.
Enforce Stantec and Client safety, and quality standards, on a project level.
Provide overall project management from engineering through completion of construction to meet client and project specific requirements.
Prepare and maintain project execution plans and ensure compliance with project plans and procedures.
Direct and coordinate the project engineering team for the execution of the project(s).
Promote quality, value, timeliness, and profitability.
Review key project deliverables for technical feasibility and to ensure multi-discipline engineering documents are cohesive.
Identify project resources needed and communicate needs to applicable business leadership/personnel.
Provide overall risk management reporting at the portfolio and project level.
Coordinate/manage internal/ external meetings.
Ensure local, state, and federal codes and standards are being met.
Manage project controls:
Develop, and refine throughout, project cost estimates
Develop, maintain, and track progress against master project schedule
Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization
Manage/review all project resources and costs
Implement cost recovery and change management activities
Determine appropriate revenue recognition, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing
Develop project forecasts (Estimates to Complete), apply Earned Value Management (EVM) practices, and submit project updates

Monitor, assess and report progress within the projects to client and develop applicable project reports accordingly.
Work with the Stantec team to oversee and coordinate the preparation of engineering work scope and cost estimations.
Work with and guide the Stantec project team when they perform the following procurement related tasks: vendor selection; prepare and issue requests for quotations; evaluate vendor bid selections and equipment.
Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Function as designated contract liaison with client on project contract performance and delivery.
Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization
Promote the HSE program throughout all phases of project(s).

Qualifications

Capabilities and Credentials
Able to manage multiple projects in different locations, using team resources which may be located in multiple locations within North America, or in other parts of the world
Experience with developing front-end project scopes of work, execution plans, fee estimates, and schedules
Experience in one or more of the following industries/areas required:
Upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas industry
Energy Renewables (Hydrogen, Biofuels, Solar, Wind, etc.)
Liquid/gas pipeline system design, facility design, terminals design, construction, and federal/state regulatory jurisdictions.
Light or heavy industrial, energy production and distribution, and/or power generation.
Ability to read and understand technical documents, including legal contracts.
Experience in coordinating the development and writing of proposals.
Past experience supervising engineering staff/project teams.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel to field locations throughout the US. Travel is anticipated to be approximately 10% and based on project and/or client needs.
Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License.
Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful passing of a drug screen.

Education and Experience
Degree in engineering (electrical, civil, chemical, control systems, or mechanical)
Minimum 7 years of oil/gas pipeline, heavy industrial, utilities, power generation, and/or alternative energy (solar/wind), and associated facilities design experience.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Manager .
Project Engineering / Design Management experience and Professional Engineering (PE) License are preferred.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):
$93,400 - $135,400 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI
$93,400 - $155,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

The benefits information listed above may not apply to union positions because benefits for such positions are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreements.
