Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements, to support rapid mobilization and power restoration efforts.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and utility clients to align project goals with customer needs and regulatory requirements.
- Establish clear communication channels and reporting mechanisms to facilitate effective project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Resource Management:
- Identify, allocate, and mobilize resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support rapid response and restoration activities.
- Coordinate with operational teams and external contractors to ensure timely availability of resources and adherence to project schedules.
- Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as needed to optimize project performance and efficiency.
- Emergency Response Planning:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and protocols for rapid deployment of resources during power outages, storms, and other emergencies.
- Conduct regular drills and simulations to test emergency response procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with emergency management agencies and other utility companies to coordinate response efforts and share best practices.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical, operational, and safety risks, to minimize disruptions and ensure timely project completion.
- Develop contingency plans and response strategies to address potential issues and emergencies during project execution.
- Monitor and track project risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing corrective actions as necessary to manage emerging risks.
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Establish quality standards and metrics for project deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to assess project performance and verify compliance with quality standards.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience in project management roles, preferably in the electric utility or emergency response sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects, including rapid mobilization and power restoration efforts.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is advantageous.
