Title: Project Manager

The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of battery energy storage projects. The role will support all phases of major projects including business development support, site development, permitting support (air, water, state, local, etc...), scope development, RFP solicitations and evaluations, major contract negotiations (equipment, engineering or EPC), construction and commissioning activities, and transition to commercial operation. The Project Manager will lead a team of internal personnel in support of executing projects and will report directly to the VP of EPC.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines
  • Lead project teams in executing plans, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality and project specifications
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and challenges
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, finance, procurement, and operations, to ensure project alignment with overall company objectives
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors
  • Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met without compromising safety, quality or schedule
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges
  • Conduct regular project reviews to evaluate performance against established benchmarks
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards throughout all project phases
  • Support procurement team in monitoring and managing regulatory changes that may impact project execution
  • Generate and present regular project status reports to senior management
  • Align with Asset Management team to facilitate a seamless transition from construction to operation
  • Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements based on project outcomes
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, etc.); Experience with Procore a plus
  • Ability to communicate across a broad spectrum of technical understanding - written, verbal and non-verbal
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams
  • Ability to coordinate resolution of technical problems and implement change
  • Familiarity with phases of engineering including scope creation, detailed design, engineering implementation, field engineering, and start-up support
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Engineering Management, Construction Management, or Project Management
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in construction or engineering (renewables preferred); minimum of 2 years as a Project Manager or Project Engineer
  • Project Management certification(s) preferred
  • PE license preferred

 

Travel & Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 25% of time will be on the road; will vary based on status of projects
  • Work travel includes solo site visits
  • Expect limited travel related to industry conferences and company events
  • This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. Standard office hours are from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST. The demands of projects may require work outside of these times.
