Your Role
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate all phases of the project, including conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, and construction services, while maintaining a strong design vision from concept through construction in collaboration with the Studio Manager.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, landlords, consultants, and internal teams throughout the duration of the project.
- Coordinate directly with landlords, property management teams, and consultants to review building standards, approvals, and project requirements.
- Conduct site visits, field surveys, and construction site observations as required to support project development and execution.
- Guide and mentor junior team members in the preparation of test fits, design presentations, and construction documents, ensuring quality and accuracy across deliverables.
- Work closely with junior staff to develop drawing sets and maintain alignment with project timelines and design intent.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, staffing plans, and weekly project planners, and collaborate with the Studio Manager to allocate team resources.
- Discuss project health, both administratively and technically, with operations leadership and escalate changing project conditions to the Business Operations Manager as needed.
- Lead consultant coordination, including assembling the team, defining scope, collecting fees, facilitating contracts, and managing consultants through all phases of the project.
- Utilize Ware Malcomb’s resource groups for design and documentation and coordinate with QC teams and peer reviewers to review contract documents prior to issuance.
- Coordinate with the contracts team for the successful execution of project agreements and issue additional services for approval prior to initiating out-of-scope work.
- Support financial management by coordinating with the accounting team on accounts receivable, consultant payables, and invoicing.
- Represent Ware Malcomb at jurisdictional design reviews, development approval meetings, and client presentations as required.
- Assist studio leadership with proposals, consultant coordination, and marketing efforts for new and repeat business.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in the field of Interior Design or Architecture
- Diverse project experience, including workplace, retail or other commercial
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- NCIDQ or ARIDO preferred
- AutoCAD and Revit skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Newforma
- Thorough knowledge of building codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate a complete set of contract documents
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, licensing, project specialty/complexity and work location. We may exceed the posted compensation range for candidates who surpass the posted requirements. At Ware Malcomb, certain roles are bonus eligible.
