Eaton\u2019s ES GEIS division is currently seeking a Facilities Engineer. This role is onsite at either our Highland, IL or Troy, IL facilities. Relocation is not provided for this position. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## PRIMARY FUNCTION:\n\nThe Project Manager \u2013 Operations, is responsible for the planning and execution of assigned facilities and manufacturing transformation projects within the GEIS business. This role focuses on delivering projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements. The Project Manager applies standard project management practices to coordinate cross\u2011functional teams, manage schedules, track costs, mitigate risks, and ensure smooth execution with minimal disruption to ongoing operations. This role works closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, EHS, and external partners to ensure project objectives are met and transition to operations is seamless.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\nProject Planning \u0026 Execution \n\u2022 Plan and execute assigned facilities and manufacturing transformation projects, ensuring adherence to defined scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. \n\u2022 Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and execution strategies aligned with program\u2011level objectives. \n\u2022 Track project progress and take corrective actions to address variances and execution risks.\n\nManufacturing Line \u0026 Equipment Moves \n\u2022 Coordinate execution of manufacturing line, equipment, and material flow relocations, including move sequencing, shutdown windows, and restart activities. \n\u2022 Support equipment disassembly, transport, installation, and re\u2011qualification in partnership with engineering and operations teams. \n\u2022 Ensure minimal impact to production, customer deliveries, and safety during move activities. \n\u2022 Support new site build\u2011out or closures, including facilities readiness, equipment installation / decommissioning, and operational handoff.\n\nCross\u2011Functional Coordination \n\u2022 Coordinate day\u2011to\u2011day execution across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, IT, Quality, EHS, Finance, HR, and external contractors. \n\u2022 Manage dependencies and resolve execution issues through collaboration and escalation as needed. \n\u2022 Participate in regular project and program reviews, providing accurate status updates and risk assessments.\n\n## Additional Information:\n\nCost, Schedule \u0026 Risk Management \n\u2022 Track project costs, purchase orders, and capital expenditures against approved budgets. \n\u2022 Identify execution risks and implement mitigation actions to protect timeline, cost, and safety outcomes. \n\u2022 Maintain project documentation, schedules, and change control records.\n\nSafety, Quality \u0026 Compliance \n\u2022 Ensure all project activities are planned and executed in accordance with EHS requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations. \n\u2022 Support permit requirements, contractor safety compliance, and pre\u2011task risk assessments. \n\u2022 Verify readiness for operational handoff through inspections, checklists, and completion documentation.\n\nCommunication \u0026 Reporting \n\u2022 Provide clear and timely project status reports, including schedule updates, cost performance, risks, and issues. \n\u2022 Communicate effectively with plant leadership and functional stakeholders to align execution activities. \n\u2022 Support stakeholder change communications related to project execution and operational transitions.\n\nContinuous Improvement \u0026 PM Discipline \n\u2022 Apply Eaton and GEIS project management tools, templates, and best practices. \n\u2022 Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement across facilities transformation efforts. \n\u2022 Contribute to a strong culture of execution discipline, accountability, and safety.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic (Required) Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree from an accredited institution.\n * Minimum of four (4) years of experience with progressive levels of accountability and responsibility in Manufacturing, Operations, Continuous Improvement, and/or Manufacturing Engineering within a manufacturing environment.\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Strong project management skills with experience leading large-scale facility transformation initiatives.\n * Knowledge of machining processes, CNC equipment, casting methods, metallurgy, Plastic molding, foundry operations, and finishing processes (e.g. plating, painting, coatings and burnishing).\n * Ability to develop and manage capital expenditure (CapEx) projects.\n * Technical degree\n\n\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
