Job Description - Project Manager Water Resources


Advance your engineering career in the heart of Arizona with a well-established and highly regarded consulting firm. We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead water resources projects, focusing on surface water initiatives, including modeling, analysis, and mitigation strategies.

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for client engagement, project execution, and team leadership. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects such as storm drainage design, FEMA Risk MAP studies, and stream stabilization efforts. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the planning, modeling, and design of water resources projects including H&H modeling, ADMP/ADMS, and FEMA studies.
  • Collaborate with clients, develop scopes, prepare cost proposals, and negotiate project contracts.
  • Oversee project budgets, scheduling, and team resources.
  • Mentor junior staff and conduct quality control of project outputs.
  • Guide floodplain mapping, drainage planning, and stream restoration projects using tools like FLO-2D.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed PE in Arizona is highly preferred.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or ability to earn within 6 months
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the Arizona market
  • Proven experience in managing water resources projects and leading technical teams
  • Strong business development and client-facing skills, as well as the ability to mentor junior staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
