Job Description - Project Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct risk assessments and implement effective risk management measures at the project site.

  • Ensure compliance with safe work procedures and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards.

  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans.

  • Ensure proper health, welfare, and hygiene practices at the project site.

  • Conduct OHS training, evaluations, awareness programs, and safety communications.

  • Monitor, inspect, and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and permit-to-work systems.

  • Perform regular site inspections, internal safety audits, and safety observations.

  • Investigate and report safety incidents while recommending corrective and preventive actions.

  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and compliance reports.

  • Coordinate safety meetings, toolbox talks (TBT), mock drills, and safety campaigns.

  • Monitor project manpower from a safety compliance perspective.

  • Implement behavior-based safety (BBS) initiatives and reward programs to promote a positive safety culture.

Required Skills



  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Minimum Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in project safety management.

  • NEBOSH Certification is mandatory.

  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and project site safety practices

  • Excellent risk assessment and hazard identification skills.

  • Good communication, reporting, and documentation abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of safety compliance.

  • Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to influence safe work practices.
