Project Specialist- Nursing and Quality (Patient Care Services) - Per Diem

Description

The Nursing and Quality Project Specialist will:

• Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, be responsible for supporting quality programs and the evaluation of nursing and clinical practice and associated programs, polices and systems that support nursing practice and patient care outcomes.  
• Make process and practice recommendations, design and implement education, training, programs and policies, in collaboration with Nursing Leadership, staff, and interdisciplinary teams, to enhance practice and professional accountability focused on positive patient outcomes. 
• Mentor and coach directors, managers, supervisors, and frontline staff to project management and process improvement principles and tools. 
• Foster and support change within the organization.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in nursing, Specialty Certification.
• Current Vermont RN licensure in good standing with no restrictions or stipulations or multistate compact licensure in good standing with no restrictions or stipulations
• Ten (10) years’ nursing experience
• Five (5) years’ project and process development, with curriculum and competency development
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Knowledge of ANA Standards and Regulatory Requirements for Competency in Nursing 
• Knowledge of Healthcare Quality
• Critical Access Hospital experience CMS Regulations
• Ability to learn Electronic Medical Record (EMR), navigate and work with informatics team.
• Knowledge of healthcare, education, regulation, and data analysis practices, reporting tools and visuals.
• Ability to work independently to manage and prioritize project assignments and meet competing deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and conceptual-thinking skills.
• Strong technical writing skills including grammar, spelling, composition, and proofreading.
• Passion for project work, combined with strong process skills.
