What You’ll Do

As a Project Superintendent, you’ll oversee all aspects of field operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with Gallagher Asphalt’s high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You’ll serve as the bridge between the office and field, leading your crews and collaborating with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, inspectors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and supervise multiple projects through all phases, from mobilization to closeout
• Schedule and lead field crews, subcontractors, and equipment to meet production goals
• Ensure adherence to contract specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards
• Track progress, quantities, costs, and productivity, and communicate regularly with the project team
• Participate in preconstruction, progress, and closeout meetings with internal teams and customers
• Document project data using company systems including Laserfiche, B2W, XBE, and Microsoft Project
• Identify and communicate lessons learned and improvement opportunities
• Support estimating and bid reviews as needed, especially during the off-season

What You Bring

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in heavy highway or municipal/IDOT construction
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent work experience
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License
• OSHA 30 Certification

Technical Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote)
• Familiarity with project management tools: Bluebeam, B2W, Microsoft Teams, etc.
• Strong scheduling, forecasting, and field coordination capabilities
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and construction methods
• Ability to manage change, solve problems quickly, and make sound decisions
• Construction math and basic financial literacy for cost and quantity tracking
