Job Description - Project Surveyor

An established and growing land surveying and development organization is seeking a Project Surveyor to support a wide variety of residential, commercial, and land development projects. This position combines office and field responsibilities, serving as the link between field survey crews and project management while ensuring survey data is accurate, organized, and delivered on schedule.


The ideal candidate has experience processing survey data, preparing field crews for daily work, interpreting construction plans, and producing high-quality survey deliverables. This is an excellent opportunity for a survey professional looking to work on diverse projects in a collaborative, technology-driven environment.


Key Accountabilities



  • Process and manage field survey data using industry-standard survey software.

  • Prepare daily field crew assignments, worksheets, control points, and project documentation.

  • Coordinate survey activities and provide technical support to field personnel.

  • Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, and construction surveys.

  • Interpret construction drawings, plats, easements, legal descriptions, and title documentation.

  • Conduct deed and title research to support survey deliverables.

  • Utilize GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and related survey technology.

  • Review completed survey work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.

  • Assist with field operations when necessary and provide support to survey crews.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.


Minimum Requirements



  • Associate's degree in Surveying or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

  • Experience processing survey data and supporting field survey operations.

  • Proficiency with survey software and modern survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, plats, legal descriptions, and title documents.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative project team.
