Projects Administrator

Department of Public Health

Behavioral Health

Number of Positions: 1

Starting Salary: $106,620

Under direction, the class is managerial in nature and accountable for senior manager level functions; positions allocated to this class are characterized as having a broad scope of management responsibilities, and performs related duties as required Positions are allocated across all city departments and have a wide range of functions. Examples of core functions characterizing this class, and specific assignments to city departments is provided below with the intent of providing parameters to adequately describe the level and scope of duties and responsibilities performed by these positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Harm Reduction Education and Supply Distribution Oversight: Ensure the efficient distribution of harm reduction supplies such as fentanyl/xylazine test kits, and naloxone kits. Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers, and address any issues or discrepancies in distribution. Work with community partners to expand distribution network and raise awareness around harm reduction. Conduct harm reduction education. Develop outcomes measures and gather data to monitor the impact of harm reduction education and supply distribution.

· Coordination with Service Providers: Act as a liaison between the program and other service providers such as the CARE team, mental health safety net support team, and care coordination agencies. Facilitate communication, collaboration, and referral processes to ensure coordinated efforts

· Expansion Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement plans for expanding program services and reach. This may involve conducting needs assessments, identifying funding opportunities, and collaborating with stakeholders to establish new initiatives or expand existing ones.

· Intergovernmental Coordination: Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies involved in substance use and recovery initiatives. Stay informed about relevant policies, regulations, and funding opportunities, and advocate for the needs of your program and clients at various levels of government.

· Care Coordination with Healthcare Providers: Collaborate with healthcare providers and delegate agencies, to ensure seamless coordination of care for clients. Facilitate referrals, share information securely, and advocate for integrated approaches to treatment and support.

· Delegate Agency Management: Oversee delegate agencies or partner organizations involved in delivering specific program components or services. Provide guidance, support, and oversight to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.

Additional duties may be required for this position

Location: 1920 S. Western, Chicago, IL 60613

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm

THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE

Qualifications:

· Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration or a field of study directly related to the responsibilities of the position, plus five years of project management work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected

Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:

· Previous work experience in managing substance use and recovery programs

· Previous work experience in project management, strategy and operational planning

· Previous supervisory work experience
