Job Description - Projects Officer (AI Upskilling)-ITDAI DC (Contractual)

The Project Officer (AI Upskilling) plays a central role in strengthening Fund‑wide AI literacy and capability by designing, delivering, and scaling AI learning programs. As part of the Digital Adoption & Change Management Unit of the Information Technology Department (ITDAI DC), the role leads the development of tailored learning pathways, practical training experiences, and hands‑on enablement aligned with the Fund’s AI strategy and Digital Dexterity agenda. The contractual position serves as a connector across departmental training focal points to ensure staff at all levels gain the skills, confidence, and mindset to use AI responsibly and effectively in daily work.

The project officer will be dedicated to lead the digital training for the two AI program, AI Foundations and AI Use Cases.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Lead Digital and AI Upskilling Programs

  • Design and lead the Fund‑wide digital upskilling initiatives, with AI as a core pillar, aligned with ITD and institutional priorities.
  • Translate emerging technology trends (especially AI) into practical learning pathways tailored to staff roles and business needs.
  • Ensure upskilling initiatives directly support adoption of IMF ‑approved tools and platforms, including AI‑enabled solutions.

Deliver High Impact Learning Programs

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable learning programs, including workshops, hands‑on labs, and executive briefings.
  • Drive role-based, scenario‑ driven learning that goes beyond tools to focus on how technology changes day‑-to‑-‑day work.

Measure Impact and Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track adoption and upskilling metrics to assess effectiveness, behavioral change, and value realization.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously refine learning approaches and scale what works.
  • Contribute to dashboards and reporting for management on digital adoption and upskilling outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree, or equivalent, in Learning & Development, Education Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study; or a university degree, or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience

Additionally, below required qualifications are required for this role:

  • Certifications in AI, instructional design, or change management
  • Demonstrated experience leading AI upskilling or large‑scale digital learning programs in complex organizations.
  • Strong understanding of AI concepts and their practical application in knowledge‑based work.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technologies into accessible, role‑relevant learning experiences.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Copilot, AI agents, or comparable enterprise digital platforms.
  • Experience in international organizations, public sector, or similarly complex institutional environments is preferred.
