Property Accountant

Description

• Processes journal entries into company ledgers
• Generates monthly accounting financial statements for properties in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Reports on variances to budget to management
• Analyzes variances on financial statements and reviews with property leaders
• Prepares annual budgets and enters into accounting system for tracking
• Prepares monthly rent rolls
• Assists in annual audits as necessary
• Records payroll transactions into company accounts
• Processes monthly public pay billings for specific properties
• Maintains general ledgers and ensures balance to subsidiary ledgers
• Monitors prepaid and accrued expenses for entry into the company ledger

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and one to three years of experience preferably in a property management environment
• Proficient use of Microsoft office products including Outlook, Excel and Word
• Experience with computerized accounting systems, experience with Yardi a plus
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Detail oriented
