Job Description - Property Accountant

Make an impact

As the Property Accountant is responsible for journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, accounts receivable and daily and monthly cash disbursements and receipts. 

  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable, security deposits and rent roll to financial statements for all properties.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports prepare monthly journal entries, financial statement preparation and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation compiling key assumptions and capital budget information.
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and review ledger accuracy.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable function
  • Manage cash functions effectively.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from Property Managers concerning tenant statements.

What you should bring

  • Knowledge of real estate databases, transaction processes, including contract reviews.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience in accounting for multifamily real estate.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Yardi.
  • Ability to represent company in a professional manner.
  • Bachelor's Degrees in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.

Retirement

Time Away From Work

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • 11 paid holidays annually

Parental Leave

  • Following six (6) months of employment, eligible employees may receive:

    • Four (4) weeks of paid parental leave as a primary caregiver, or

    • Two (2) weeks of paid parental leave as a secondary caregiver

  • Following two (2) years of employment, eligible primary caregivers may receive up to twelve (12) weeks of paid parental leave per birth, adoption, or placement

Learning & Development

  • Tuition Reimbursement of up to $5,000 per year for pre‑approved education expenses

    • Repayment obligations may apply if employment ends prior to 24 months
