Join the Thomas Ranch Team, the first-of-its-kind development of a 2,200-acre inspired master-planned community that aims to renew the relationship between land and people. The ideal candidate is a self-starting, detail-oriented, effective communicator, who will lead with integrity, and professionalism. This is position is similar to a ranch hand with combined elements of a house manager, including landscaping, housekeeping, gardening responsibilities, and errand running for our internal staff and high-end tenants. 

Core Responsibilities:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Property Maintenance Associate to join our team at Thomas Ranch. This position involves a mix of hands-on mechanical, technical, and maintenance work in a dynamic outdoor environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing ranch equipment, handling routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and providing general technical support to ensure the efficient operation of the ranch.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of ranch equipment, including tractors, irrigation systems, ATVs, trucks, and other machinery in the garage and field, and ensure all equipment is in safe, working condition to avoid downtime during critical tasks.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Order tools and replacement parts as needed. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, inventory, etc. and submit regular reports as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and in compliance with safety regulations and manufacturers’ recommendations.
  • Provide support and training for the safe operation of machinery and equipment by ranch employees.
  • Maintain ranch infrastructure, including fences, gates, water systems, and barns and conduct minor construction and repairs as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper operation and water conservation.
  • Work closely with ranch management to prioritize tasks and address urgent technical needs.
  • Water plants at both property locations and tend to plant garden, including harvesting when needed.
  • Feed farm animals and collect eggs from quail and chickens.
  • Weed management, brush maintenance, and removal of debris and down limbs as well as seasonal lawn maintenance, edging of walkways, leaf blowing, using chain saws and other heavy equipment, and watering and raking as needed.
  • Weeding of all ranch gates and branding (1-2x/month)
  • Raking of riding area (2x/month) and cleaning of horse stalls as needed.
  • Clean and maintain swimming pool from debris as well as pond maintenance.
  • Refuel and run cars through carwash on a biweekly basis with occasional maintenance at car dealership.
  • Handle all recycling.
  • Possible furniture moves and retrieval from storage center as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

This is a full-time onsite position in Spicewood, TX. Workdays are M-F with occasional weekend availability required as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working at a country club or high-end resort helpful but not required.
  • 1+ year of prior experience operating and maintaining various hand tools, landscape equipment, and other machinery.
  • Experience with irrigation systems, fences, and water management a plus.
  • Knowledge of equipment safety standards.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to lift 50-75lbs.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
