Job Description - Property Maintenance Technician

Nielson Construction is looking for a motivated and experienced team member to join our Property Management division as a Maintenance Technician! The Property Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all maintenance across multiple properties that include residential, storage, and commercial units. The Property Maintenance Technician is also responsible for groundskeeping, snow removal, and other miscellaneous projects and tasks. Some on-call hours are required for this position.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance across multiple properties to include residential, storage and commercial units. This includes diagnosing and repairing problems with building heat, electricity, water, fixtures, appliances, and more.

  • Prepare unoccupied units to be rent ready in the required timeframe per company standards. Ensure that all occupied units are in good condition to maintain tenant satisfaction.

  • Assist in unit inspections to identify and address short-term repair needs, sanitation issues, and replacement needs of the property.

  • Assist with all groundskeeping. This includes mowing, trimming, seeding, sodding, repairing, and winterizing.

  • Performs snow and ice removal, including snow blowing, shoveling, and putting down salt, using a pick to remove ice build-up on sidewalks and walkways, parking lots, roofs, and common spaces.

  • Performs small motor repair and maintenance on equipment used in maintaining the buildings and grounds.

  • Maintain a safe workspace in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

  • Maintain accurate timecards and paperwork.

  • Additional duties as assigned.



Skills and Qualifications:



  • A valid driver license is required.

  • Work experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building, carpentry, HVAC, or other maintenance industries is required.

  • Good organization and time management skills.

  • Ability to withstand external weather conditions.

  • Ability to climb ladder and work above ground.

  • Ability to push, pull and lift 50 pounds frequently, 100-150 pounds or more occasionally.
