Position Summary: The
Property Tax Analyst
is responsible for assisting and executing all aspects of the property tax function and is part of a small integrated team charged with management of Real and Personal property tax valuations and tax payments for approximately 3000 parcels annually either owned or managed by Hillwood companies. The Property Tax department offices in North Fort Worth, TX with other supporting offices located throughout the United States. Responsibilities: Develop working knowledge of Property Tax processes to understand how to identify, locate, and estimate property taxes, file timely returns, and timely pay taxes. Support Property Tax Team to deliver the following services to various Hillwood business units: financial analysis, real estate valuation, real estate tax appeals, tax estimates, and market research. Maintain relationships and communication, written & verbal, among various levels of Hillwood associates, across multiple business units, with outside providers (consultants, engineers, lawyers, title companies, etc.), and with government representatives. Ensure personal property compliance administration with accuracy and timely filings. Organize and prepare various Property Tax reports. Assist in the management and maintenance of Property Point Property Tax software. Special projects assigned by the VP Ad Valorem Tax. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent analytical, organizational, prioritization, and communication skills, written and verbal, with great attention to detail. Ability to manage, track multiple projects, and meet deadline in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, reports, and terminology. Self-motivated with the ability to contribute both independently and as a team member. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of RE and PP property tax experience with a Property Tax firm or large corporation. Experience working in proprietary Property Tax systems/applications, strongly preferred. Experience with Power BI, Alteryx and/or Tableau, a plus.
