We are looking to add a Key Member to our Tax Team!
The Property Tax Leader is responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of the property tax cycle with emphasis on quality control and risk mitigation. The Property Tax Leader will also be responsible for personnel development and for design, development and execution of strategic compliance initiatives and processes. This role requires a person that is self-directed with strong communication, analytical, collaboration, influential leadership, and problem-solving skills. The Property Tax Leader will make decisions to ensure we meet targets for service, productivity, and team member engagement.
As a Property Tax Leader, you will:
- Function as key point of contact for business operations; understand priorities of various corporate, business unit, and functional leadership
- Lead resolution of lessee and customer questions, and taxing jurisdiction issues pertaining to asset tax coding, property tax charges, and system logic
- Drive compliance system development and modification, including PTMS, Epicor and Excel Power Queries and Power Pivots to ensure the team is performing optimally
- Champion improvements within the function, including but not limited to sponsoring and leading strategic property tax initiatives related to development and modification of new and existing programs and compliance related software as well as policy/procedure changes
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of property tax processes; continually review and enhance quality control processes, identify risks and drive resolution, ensure accuracy and effectiveness of third-party service portfolio administration for property tax compliance
- Oversee account reconciliation process including resolution of discrepancies and identification of potential process improvements and/or efficiencies
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex property tax compliance issues
- Provide formal coaching and feedback to team members; identify and communicate challenging work that will provide development opportunities; encourage creativity and recognize individual performance
- Track, review, and report team performance metrics to internal leadership
- Monitor team resource needs; effectively communicate updates on resource needs to internal leadership
- Provide outstanding GreatAmerica Experience for external as well as internal customers

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Equivalent experience will be considered
Experience
- Ideal candidate will have seven years or more of directly related property tax experience
- Candidates with a combination of tax technical background and proven leadership ability will be considered
- Prior leasing industry experience preferred
Computer Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office products primarily Word and Excel
- Significant experience with property tax software strongly preferred
