Job Description

HRDI is seeking a Psychiatric Assessment Clinical Supervisor who will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Psychiatric Assessment and DMH Enhanced Grant funded program. This includes creating and managing an effective case assignment process and removing barriers to timely admission for appropriate clients.  The Psychiatric Assessment Clinical Supervisor will also supervise a team of clinical staff who will be responsible for the facilitation of assessments for crisis clients and providing enhanced case management services to select clients. This person will be responsible for supervising Psychiatric Assessment Specialists, both LPHA and QMHP staff members. 

 

Job duties include:

  • Receive calls requesting a TPRS Eligibility and Disposition Assessment and document the response time.
  • Ensure that priority responses are provided to the Emergency Departments of community hospitals in Region 1 South;
  • Document all evaluations completed and maintain these in a clinical record for the individual.
  • Follow up with dispositions and referrals made to determine the number of individuals successfully linked to the recommended service.
  • Along with the billing department, ensures that each individual determined to be eligible for TPRS is appropriately registered with the designated identifier in the DHS/DMH consumer registration/enrollment information system.
  • Ensures that on a monthly basis a summary of the services and supports provided to each individual determined to be eligible for TPRS, including identification of those individuals served that were direct deflections from community hospital emergency departments and individuals discharged from other levels of care and specification of which level of care (such as CHIPS, state hospitals, crisis residential, substance abuse residential) are submitted to the DHS/DMH Regional Office.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of Rule 132, Attachment B and all regulatory standards as it relates to programs within the Division of Mental Health;
  • Demonstrates cultural competence and behaviors consistent with the core values, vision and mission of HRDI;
  • Responsible for the recruitment, screening, training and supervision of graduate interns within the behavioral health field;
  • Assist with coordination of professional development and professional learning.
  • Participate in team meetings and attend relevant training sessions to increase knowledge and skills.
  • Present a positive image of HRDI to clientele, visitors and co-workers.
  • Ensures that all walk in clients are screened and triaged as appropriate and referred to relevant programming/services based on their treatment needs;
  • Intervene as an advocate for clients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
  • Responsible for providing direct care by performing screenings and intakes as needed;
  • Assists in tracking referrals and admissions and monitoring timelines for adherence to state guidelines;
  • Acts as a liaisons between clients and HRDI clinical and medical staff
  • Facilitates and participates in interdisciplinary case conferences or staff meetings regarding potentially challenging referrals;
  • Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals or other health professionals, within HRDI such as adult and child psychiatrists, nurses and other department supervisors.
  • To perform in this position successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work
  • LCSW, LCPC or LMFT
  • Minimum of five years experience in the human service field with at least two years of managerial experience;
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in computer programs, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and experience with database management.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of skill in problem solving and working effectively with people.
  • Must be detail oriented and flexible.
  • Knowledge of Community Mental Health, Rule 132 and the Department of Mental Health;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and serve as a liaison to primary referral sources, families, team members, school districts, community agencies, and signatory partners
