Job Description - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Health Promotion Center

Job Summary:The Health Promotion Center (HPC) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is responsible for seeing approximately 8 patients per day in a primary care clinic in City Heights with a primarily Spanish speaking patient population. The job will include some telehealth as well as in-person visits. Care will be provided within a collaborative team environment.

Salary Pay Range: $53.68 - 61.60 per hourSchedule: 8 hours per week

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities:

Works in conjunction with other HPC NPsDuties will include one on one consultations for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of established patients referred from the HPC for mental health care.Complete patient visits in a timely mannerComplete charting on all encounters within 1 business dayMaintain appropriate documentation in medical records of health encounters and other follow-up communication.

Work well within the Health Promotion Center team of providers and externsMaintain Standardized Practice Guidelines as specified by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) of California.Consult with HPC supervising physician and other HPC providers when health care practice issues arise or when treatment plans are not producing expected response.QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities:Proficient or fluent in Spanish is a MUSTProficient in Microsoft, Excel, Google DriveExcellent written and verbal communication skills

Required Education, Experience, and Licensure:

Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse PractitionerCurrent RN, PMHNP, DEA and Furnishing license in CAAt least one (1) year experienceCPR Certified (BLS required)Job offer is contingent on clear background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.Prolonged periods of standing during patient evaluationsAbility to read documents, email and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Ability to stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs throughout the day.
