Salary Range: $150,300.00 - $160,800.00  


*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices 


Position Summary

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner serves as a key clinical provider within the Outpatient Interventional Psychiatry Program, primarily supporting the administration and monitoring of IV ketamine treatments for adults with treatment-resistant depression and related conditions.


Location: Weill Cornell Psychiatry Specialty Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health, 21 Bloomingdale Road, White Plains, NY with some cross coverage at location in midtown Manhattan.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform and monitor IV ketamine infusions according to established protocols, including venipuncture, IV placement, patient assessment, and monitoring during and after treatment.
  • Monitor vital signs and manage adverse reactions in accordance with program policies.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments and document treatment outcomes using standardized measures.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, provide medication management, patient education, and informed consent.
  • Coordinate care with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and referring clinicians.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Administer TMS treatments under psychiatrist supervision including assisting with treatment setup, motor-threshold determination, cortical mapping, and ongoing treatment monitoring.
  • Monitor patients for adverse effects and escalate clinical concerns as appropriate.
  • Administer and document clinical rating scales and treatment outcomes.

Education

  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Experience


  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a hospital, outpatient, or physician practice setting.

  • Prior psychiatry, behavioral health, infusion therapy, or interventional psychiatry experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong psychiatric assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Licenses and Certifications

  • NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) license and current NP registration with psychiatry specialty practice.
  • NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration
  • Applicable National Board Certification (such as ANCC, PNCB, etc).
  • BLS Certification (issued by the American Heart Association)
  • Infection Control Certificate.
  • Current Narcotics DEA registration certificate
