Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP/PNCP) - Behavioral Health 



Location: Kalispell, MT


Job Type: Full-time 



Job Summary:


We are seeking a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP/PNCP) to provide high-quality, integrated behavioral health services.  The ideal candidate will diagnosis, treat, and manage mental health conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team in a patient-centered medical home environment. 


 


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across the lifespan

  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications

  • Conduct mental health assessments and document treatment plans

  • Monitor patient progress and medication outcomes

  • Order and interpret laboratory tests

  • Deliver patient and family education on mental health conditions and treatments 

  • Collaborate with primary care providers, medical director, and behavioral health team

  • Coordinate care and provide referrals to community resources 

  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations 

  • Support integrated care delivery within a behavioral health and primary care setting



Qualifications (Required)



  • Graduate degree in Psychiatric Nursing

  • Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or PNCP)

  • Active Montana APRN license (or eligibility)

  • Current DEA license with prescriptive authority 

  • Valid Montana driver's license 



Preferred Experience 



  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner 

  • Experience in integrated behavioral health or primary care setting 



Required Knowledge and Skills



  • Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria 

  • Experience with behavioral health screening tools and assessments

  • Understanding of:

    • Motivational interviewing

    • Case management principles 

    • OSHA and HIPAA compliance 

    • Immunization standards 



  • Familiarity with community mental health resources 

  • Excellent clinical documentation and reporting skills
