Psychiatric Technician

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a civilian full-time Psychological Technician at the Fort Belvoir-sponsored Family Fairfax Ambulatory Ambulatory Care Centers in Fairfax, VA.

This contract position offers:

Monday-Friday

0700-1530, 0730-1600, or 0800-1630

This position administers Psychological testing in support of Behavioral Health care and treatment.

Essential Functions:

• Administers, ensures proper accuracy and completion by the patient, scores, and present results for Psychological tests under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist.
• Assists the physician, RN, Social Worker and other treatment team members in decision-making to ensure complete and appropriate information is shared.
• Identifies and reports any pertinent behavioral, medical, and/or psychosocial data to the physician, RN, and/or Social Worker.
• Serves as positive role model by establishing maintaining positive, therapeutic relationships and appropriate boundaries with patients and their guardians.
• Completes vital sign monitoring per policy.
• Provide patient privacy and comply with HIPAA.

Job Qualifications:

The job qualifications for this position are as follows:

• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavioral Health related discipline
• Must have prior, successful experience administering Psychological testing (examples: IQ tests, personality tests)
• Must have at least one year experience working in a Behavioral Health setting.
• Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
• Shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with patients and other staff members
• Have knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated records.
