Job Summary

We are a growing dermatology practice committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care across Oregon and Washington. As we continue expanding specialty services, we are seeking a compassionate and motivated Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team.

We are looking for a provider who is passionate about delivering patient-centered care and helping patients improve their overall health and well-being. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, personable, collaborative, and committed to providing high-quality care in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and mental health evaluations.
  • Obtain patient histories, assess symptoms, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Diagnose and manage appropriate mental health conditions within the provider's scope of practice.
  • Provide medication management when appropriate and within scope and licensure.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and wellness strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care.
  • Recognize situations requiring referral to a psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, emergency services, or other specialists.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, clinical standards, and organizational policies.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Active Oregon NP or PA license (or ability to obtain prior to start date) 
  • NCCPA certification for PAs or board certification/certification appropriate to the NP's specialty 
  • DEA license and prescriptive authority, as applicable to the provider's scope of practice (or ability to obtain) 
  • Minimum 1 year of behavioral health, psychiatric, or related clinical experience preferred
  • Strong behavioral healthl assessment, therapeutic communication, patient education, and patient-centered care skills 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with physicians, mental health professionals, and other members of a multidisciplinary care team 
  • Strong clinical documentation, treatment-planning, communication, and time-management skills 

Preferred:

  • Experience providing psychological or behavioral health care in an outpatient, hospital, or multidisciplinary clinical setting
  • Experience supporting patients coping with cancer diagnoses, chronic illness, grief, anxiety, depression, adjustment concerns, or treatment-related stress
  • Interest in helping develop and grow behavioral health services as part of the new cancer center
