Psychiatrist
for adults and children at our clients clinics in Plattsburgh and Glens Falls, NY. SIGN-ON BONUS potential depending on candidate. Relocation assistance on case-by-case basis. Possible part-time options.

Our client is a fast growing, progressive, not-for-profit organization founded in 1874 committed to transforming care and enriching the lives of the people they service and their community.
This adult psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. This psychiatrist will conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Order, analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorders.
Design, execute or approve individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.
Prescribe and monitor medications and other treatments.
Completes training and provides treatment using Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT).
Gather and maintain patient information and records.
Participate in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process as requested.
Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Current and valid board certification in psychiatry.
Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency.
Licensed to practice medicine in state of practice.
Current DEA registration.
Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria.
Training and experience in providing Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) preferred.
Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques.
Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of PC applications and electronic medical records.
