Job Description - Psychiatrist M.D

Position Summary

Reserve Health is seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team. This full-time, primarily in-person clinical role involves direct patient care and oversight for a multidisciplinary team within a diverse practice setting, including correctional medicine, outpatient services for first responders, and traditional outpatient psychiatry. The psychiatrist will play a critical role in managing psychiatric care for adults and children, with a focus on adult populations, while contributing to the management of outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including outpatient psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy, to:

    • Male and female inmates in a county jail with a population of approximately 650.

    • First responders (police and fire personnel) requiring psychiatric support.

    • Traditional insurance-based and self-pay outpatient psychiatric patients.

  • Oversee and provide clinical guidance to a team of:

    • 1–2 Psychiatric Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

    • 2 Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs).

  • Share on-call responsibilities (approximately 7 days per month), offering phone consultation (currently averaging <4 calls per 24 hours) without the requirement to attend the facility in person during on-call periods.

  • Manage psychiatric conditions across a lifespan (children and adults), with a primary focus on adult patients.

  • Assist in the management of patients enrolled in outpatient MAT programs.

  • Participate in limited telemedicine consultations as necessary.

  • Collaborate with the leadership to establish and meet clinical and administrative performance goals.

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and clinical standards.

  • Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and clinical decisions in accordance with organizational policies and standards.

Schedule

  • Scheduled times and days are negotiable.

  • Clinical responsibilities are primarily in-person, with some telemedicine as needed.
