Stop and Shop Porter Job Description

Porter roles at Stop and Shop involve maintaining store cleanliness, assisting with customer service, and supporting daily operations in a variety of departments.

Job Purpose

Porters are responsible for keeping the store environment clean, organized, and customer-friendly. They may be assigned to front-end or back-end duties depending on store needs 

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Cleaning & Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wax floors, and clean restrooms, break rooms, and workstations Trash & Waste Management: Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with store protocols

  Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner; address inquiries and concerns when appropriate

  Store Organization: Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas, including aisles and storage spaces

  Team Support: Follow safety guidelines, communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers, and assist in other duties as needed

  Flexibility: May be required to move between departments or assist in different areas
