Job Description - Public Adjuster - Active 'CAPIA'

Job Description:

We are currently expanding and are looking for motivated individuals to join us as public adjusters. The PA is a professional claims handler who advocates for the policyholder in appraising and negotiating a claimant's insurance claim throughout the claim process. The PA works well in a fast-paced environment, models behaviors that reflect our core values, and reports to a Claims Director.

The ideal applicant must have:

Responsibilities

Consistently deliver high-quality outcomes by efficiently processing claims according to established guidelines.

Provide top-level advocacy for claims by maintaining control and offering regular communication and updates to clients.

Communicate clearly throughout all stages of the claim process, ensuring effective interaction with all relevant parties, both internal and external.

Maintain ongoing documentation using a CMS file management system.

Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of claims, ensuring a deep understanding of all associated documents.

Engage in analytical thinking, questioning assumptions, exploring unexpected data patterns, and seeking deeper insights.

Develop and implement strategic approaches to claims based on comprehensive reviews, analyses, and a solid understanding of legal, industry, and policy standards.

Research, gather support, organize, and present information to strengthen cases.

Clearly articulate and present claim demands to insurance carriers.

Identify, document, and communicate claim processing errors to carriers when valid support is available.

Hold insurance carriers accountable to their obligations to clients until the claim is fully resolved.

Participate in continuous professional development through mentorships, training, and self-directed learning.

Actively engage in knowledge-sharing sessions and provide mentorship and coaching to less experienced colleagues.

In the first six months in this role, success would look like:

Successfully managing claims from inception to resolution, achieving favorable outcomes for clients.

Crafting and executing strategic claim plans based on comprehensive case analysis.

Proactively identifying and correcting claim processing errors with insurance carriers.

Communicating effectively with all stakeholders involved in the claim process.

Contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment through knowledge sharing and mentorship.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Qualifications

Tenacity and perseverance to overcome challenges and achieve goals.

Meticulous attention to detail, paired with exceptional organizational and analytical skills.

A strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service and building long-lasting client relationships.

Excellent communication skills, including active listening, issue identification, and resolution articulation.

A bachelors degree in insurance, construction management, business management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Over 5 years of hands-on experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on property claims.

Deep knowledge of property insurance, including policy terms, coverages, claim causations, valuations, and best practices for claim handling.

A strong understanding of industry standards and legal regulations governing property insurance claims.

Proficiency in using Xactimate.

Familiarity with Symbility.

Ability to effectively utilize a CMS file management system.
