Job Description - Public Affair Strategist


A Public Affairs Strategist will play a pivotal role in executing strategic communications campaigns and initiatives for our clients, including those with interests in Jewish and pro-Israel affairs. You will contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance our clients' visibility, reputation, and influence.


Core Responsibilities 




  • Collaborate to develop and execute strategic communications plans and initiatives tailored to the unique needs and objectives of our clients. 




  • Conduct research and analysis to identify key media opportunities, news trends, and current events, which will inform PR strategies and messaging frameworks. 




  • Draft compelling press releases, media pitches, and other written materials to effectively communicate our clients' stories and key messages to target audiences. 




  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, and editors, securing media placements and opportunities for our clients in top-tier outlets. 




  • Monitor media coverage and relevant conversations to our clients' areas of interest, providing regular reports and insights to inform strategies and measure impact. 




  • Contribute to developing digital content and social media strategies to amplify our clients' messaging and engage with target audiences across various platforms. 




  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including creative, digital, and account management, to ensure alignment and integration of communications efforts with overall client objectives. 




  • Oversee internal processes, including maintaining and updating press lists, pulling traditional press, and tracking campaign performance. 




Required Qualifications




  • 3+ years experience in related field, including but not limited to communications, public affairs, or government. This individual will be expected to operate autonomously without day to day supervision and requires a self motivated mindset and good time management.




  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and persuasive messaging tailored to diverse audiences.




  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with clients, media contacts, and colleagues.




  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to driving measurable outcomes.




  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with meticulous attention to detail and organization.




  • Passion for storytelling, creativity, and staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in PR and communications.




Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience in public affairs, government relations, or advocacy communications.




  • Demonstrated experience or interest in conservative politics, Jewish communal organizations, Israel advocacy, interfaith initiatives, or human rights work.




  • Strong writing and editing skills for policy briefs, op-eds, and stakeholder messaging.




  • Familiarity with digital advocacy tools, social media management, and content analytics.




Working Conditions




  • Full-time, typically 40 hours per week, with standard office hours (e.g., 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).Sedentary work involves long periods of sitting and computer use.




  • Occasional evening or weekend work during public events, press conferences, or emergencies.




  • Periodic deadline-driven tasks—such as preparing public statements, reports, or media briefings—may require flexibility and quick turnaround.




  • May require extended screen time, data entry, writing, and digital editing tasks.




  • Light lifting (e.g., carrying laptops, presentation materials, or event signage) up to 20 pounds may be necessary.




  • Light travel, depending on projects or medial engagements, generally limited to:





    • Local or regional events, such as community meetings or press briefings.




    • Occasional conferences or inter-agency collaboration sessions.




    • Site visits or outreach initiatives representing the organization.
