Public area attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should be able to address guest requests and problems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Cleans rooms, hallways, and restrooms.

2. Sweeps carpets.

3. Empties ashtrays and urns.

4. Polishes furniture and fixtures.

5. Keeps the front of the hotel free from trash.

6. Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and shampoo machine.

7. Washes walls and ceilings, moves and arranges furniture, and turns mattresses.

8. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.

9. Dust and polishes metal work.

10. Collects solid linen supplies in floor linen closets.

11. Removes trash collected by room attendants.

12. To attend daily briefings for functions and events held in the hotel.

13. To perform daily assigned tasks in toilets, lifts, back areas, terrace, etc.

14. To clean and maintain all equipment daily.

15. To follow up a special cleaning schedule given by the housekeeping control desk.

16. To report maintenance to supervisor/ housekeeping desk immediately.

17. To comply with Lost and Found Policy of the Hotel.

18. To assist Guest in Public Areas when required.

19. To have good knowledge of all hotel facilities, hours of operation, Restaurants, shops and function rooms.

20. Responsible for maintaining inventory in the housekeeping closets.

21. Post caution signs as and when required.

22. Responsible for following departmental policies and procedures.

23. Responsible for upkeep of all the equipment which they are using i.e., Vacuum cleaner, trolleys, Scrubbing machine.

24. Responsible for maintaining a time schedule for cleaning of their areas.

25. Responsible for spring cleaning of their area as per the schedule is given to them.

26. Authorized to enter offices for maintenance or other activities like pest control, shampooing of carpet etc.
