Job Overview: The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) Office of Informatics and Analytics (OIA) is currently recruiting to support a Public Health Informatics Analyst (Clinical Applications Coordinator 2). This person in this role will support public health electronic data exchange activities, working closely with other members of the OIA, various TDH divisions and program areas, and with Strategic Technology Solutions (STS). This position will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of electronic data exchange interfaces, exploring options to interface with other existing TDH health information systems, assisting with testing and validation, proposing corrective actions or system enhancements, and documenting activity diagrams and workflows for electronic interfaces. This position will also provide training and subject matter expertise to TDH programs related to public health interoperability standards (e.g. HL7) and vocabulary coding (e.g. LOINC, SNOMED-CT, ICD-10, NCPDP) services for public health surveillance and health information systems. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate interoperability implementation and providing consultation on requirements. Assist with the development and execution of new public health interoperability interfaces. Assist with health-related data exchange - Provide public health interoperability standards consultation and training. Provide vocabulary coding consultation and training. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in public health, public health informatics, computer science, or computer information science required with 5 years of relevant experience with interoperability implementation using HL7. Preferred Qualifications:
PhD or master's degree in public health, public health informatics, computer science, or computer information science. Preferred qualifications include HL7 certification and interface work with clinical systems and Public Health interfaces. Competitive candidates have experience with Public Health systems, clinical systems, and HL7 V2, CDA, and FHIR.
