Job Description - Public Health Project Manager
ROLE
We need an experienced Public Health Project Manager to provide mission support and technical assistance for the Division of State and Local Readiness (DSLR) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Your scope of work is focused on various projects related to the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) cooperative agreement, assisting with state and local preparedness and response activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
AProject Management
Provide project coordination and leadership support for operational effectiveness
Assist with program requests and issue management
Conduct project planning and documentation
Coordinate division-wide program communication for change management processes
Work with other CDC Centers, Institute, and Offices (CIOs) to support operational timelines.
Coordinate project tracking and status reporting for all branches and partners (i.e., document updates and timeline)
Develop project plan for PHEP Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) (i.e., implementation, process, and guidance docs.)
Establish standardized project plans (i.e., technical assistance and various STLT engagement efforts)
Manage STLT engagement efforts (i.e., communities of practice and training support)
Develop and maintain plans for other division-wide activities
Support the PHEP CoAg process for the upcoming Project Period (2024-2029).
Aid in the development, communication, and implementation of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).
BStrategic Planning & Organization Design
Create strategic plans and engagement strategies at the division and branch levels
Facilitate stakeholder engagement strategies
Determine the impact of strategic plans on current and future DSLR organizational design
Organize planning sessions and draft related documentation (i.e., reporting benchmarks, metrics)
Support the execution of this strategy through monitoring and reporting activities
Formulate a strategic or project plan aligned with the PHEP Lifecycle
CData Mgmt. Strategy & Visualization
Assess current data management processes and systems
Develop recommendations for improvement
Assist with the development of various reports and products
DTechnical Assistance
Assist in the development and execution of a technical assistance strategy (i.e., coordination among DSLR work units)
Support for various training initiatives (STLT and internally facing)
Aid in developing and implementing a strategy and platform for a Community of Practice
Identify actions to address gaps and opportunities in assessments during strategy development and planning session
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge of Project Mgmt. activities (i.e., agile project mgmt., project mgmt. body of knowledge)
Knowledge of quality improvement processes
Knowledge of current information technology (IT programs)
Understanding of strategic planning and project completion
BACKGROUND
Prior Federal government experience preferred
Experience navigating complex federal/state/local policies and processes
Experience providing support to emergency response and public health readiness strategies
Experience working with large cooperative agreements and programs
Experience coordinating with various internal/external stakeholders
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree related to analytics and or project management preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
