Public Information Officer

This key role provides administrative and communications support to the County Commission Administrator's Office. You'll manage a wide range of complex and confidential duties to ensure the office runs smoothly, including building and maintaining relationships with officials and the public. A key part of the job is managing the county's media and public relations, which involves drafting media responses and overseeing social media platforms, including newsletters, updates, and resident feedback.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as Communications, Public Administration, or Marketing, along with five years of experience in human services, education, or a similar area. We will also consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

You should have a strong grasp of communications and marketing principles to develop strategic plans, and you must also understand local government operations. A clean background check is required.

This full-time Exempt position offers $65,766.05 a year, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
