Public Information Officer/Medias Production Manager

This position serves as the primary point of contact for communicating official county information to the public, media, and other stakeholders.  To develop and manage all production/quality aspects of the county’s web and cable presence by conceptualizing and producing high profile, creative on-line material. This position will work closely with the Judge-Executive, department directors and community leaders.  The PIO manages the county’s digital presence and is responsible for video recording, editing, and production of county-related media content.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field.
• Two-five years of experience in public communications, media relations, or similar role; preferably in a government setting.

Consideration given for equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Skills & Abilities

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in social media platforms (i.e., YouTube and Facebook), content scheduling tools, and analytics.
• Knowledge and experience with applications such as HTML, JSP, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro X, After Effects and Motion, Black Magic Switcher, Switcher Studio.
• Knowledge of local government structure and public records requirements is a plus.
