Salary

Hiring Rate: $22.98/hour, Grade 11, Non-Exempt, Teamsters - General Unit

Starting Salary: $22.98/hour

Position Objective 
To provide quality customer service primarily involving license and document management and related office duties. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of customer service duties in an efficient, accurate and professional manner including cash receipting, processing of documents, data retrieval and entry, and other general office duties.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
These examples do not include all possible responsibilities in this position and do not limit the assignment of related duties to this classification.
 
1. Prepares, evaluates and processes motor vehicle and DNR transactions to provide customers with accurate and timely tabs, titles and game and fish licenses.
2. Prepares, evaluates and processes driver’s license, EDL, and Real ID transactions to provide customers with accurate and updated documents.
3. Processes vital statistics including birth, death, marriage, ordination and notary certificates.
4. Provides information regarding office services in person, by phone and other correspondence to provide responsive and accurate customer service.
5. Reviews legal documents to ensure accuracy and completeness and processes as required by law.
6. Enters pertinent data into computer accurately for efficient retrieval of requested document information.
7. Processes payments; balances receipts and fees and makes deposits; prepares and balances reports for fees received and documents recorded to ensure revenue is properly accounted for and dispersed.
8. Makes accurate and/or certified copies of recorded legal documents.
9. Processes mailings and other correspondence.
10. Conducts daily inventory of license plates, stickers and other state supplied materials.
11. Prepares materials, reports, forms and other written and visual materials.
12. Attends training and meetings to maintain knowledge of policy, software and process changes.
13. Attends work in a regular and timely manner.
14. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

 

Minimum Qualifications
 In order to be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following: 

·         High School graduate or equivalent

·         Four years of progressively related experience

·         Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

·         Ability to comply with Bureau of Criminal Apprehension security requirements and certification requirements

2. Knowledge and understanding of standard office practices, procedures and technology.
3. Knowledge of basic accounting principles, practice and procedures.
4. Ability to understand and explain instructions, policies, statutes, rules, procedures and systems to a diverse general public.
5. Ability to respond to public inquiries in a respectful, courteous and helpful manner.
6. Ability to organize and prioritize work within limited timelines.
7. Ability to work independently on a variety of assignments.
8. Ability to follow instructions, adhere to schedules and perform work assignments.
9. Ability to work with material in a confidential manner.
10. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The primary responsibilities for this position will be performed indoors. Occasionally operates drive thru window station. Will have minimal exposure to health hazards and accidents; requires a low to moderate level of physical effort. All employees are required to reside within the state of Minnesota.

Extent of Supervision or Guidance Provided
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Office Services Supervisor.

Responsibility for Public Contact
Frequent.

 

Hours of Work
This position has a normal work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; may include some evening and weekend hours.
